How has your internship been similar to your expectations? How has it been different than your expectations?
My internship has to talk with many different kids. They are big part of community. To meet and learn about is one thing of my my expectation. The different of my expectation idteaching. Iwill not to be a teacher.
What is similar and/or different about the culture of your internship workplace environment compared to IHSL's school environment? Provide at least two specific examples.
The smimilar is every body respectful to each other, be nice to each other, listen, learning and teaching. For example, my internship place also a school. Many teacher and students are similar to IHSL's envionment. The difference is grade level, they're not teengers, are kids.
What new skills have you learned that you can apply at other jobs? For example, have you learned to become a better verbal communicator as a result of interacting with clients each day? If so, how and where could that skill help you get a job in the future?
I can be a patient and good listener when I work with different kids. I think be a patient and good listener person are improtant and useful in each job.
What kind of relationship do you have with your mentor and co-workers?
I think teacher and student is kind of the relationship with my metor. Because I am new and I have to learn form her. Also can be a helper, to help her in the classroom.

To know want is the most improtant, and what I need to do first. To take my time and be organize.
What kinds of communication skills have you gained? Specifically, how has your English improved since beginning internship?
The commucication skills I gained was to listen careful and care about what they said and answer. The students I work with are like to share whit people. I always listen to them and try my best English to communica with them.
What challenges have you had to overcome? Explain the specific steps you've taken to beat those challenges.
The challenges is to listen care to what the kids said. Seriously, they're good English speaker, better than me more and more. Sometiome I don't understand, but I try to ask them what's that mean to understand what they want to say.
How has the altered internship schedule affected you? How have you reorganized your time to make sure you are getting all your classwork done? If you're not getting your assignments done, what can you do for the remaining five weeks to ensure you earn better grades?
My internship schedule make me feel more tire than before and less time to do class work in the class. So I have to take home to finish it. I may use a little note book to write donw what I have to do every day. And remain me to do the assigments done to earn better grades.
You have FIVE WEEKS of internship left. What are two goals do you hope to accomplish during the remaining weeks? These goals could include knowledge you hope to gain or skills you hope to learn.
My goal is to finish 125 hours in the internship. And also can take my tiome finish work in class or home to get a better grade. I hope my internship can be a good job experience of my life. I hope to learn good communication with kids.
What new things have you learned about New York City as a result of being "out and about"?
The new thing I learned about was what a kindergarten looks like, works like.
I also believe that communication is great skill. Working with children who are very active I think you can learn to be patient. The kids and your mentor must be great influence. Learning to listen can be very usefulin you future if you are thinking of working with kids. Keep it up!

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are having lots of opportunities to improve your English listening and speaking skills. Schools can be tough places because things happen quickly and you have to keep up. But I'm glad you're doing well as a teacher's assistant.
I noticed you wrote you "will not be a teacher". Are you sure? What type of career do you think you will pursue?
